What ACOD deliberately doesn't do (and what to use instead)

Updated · ACOD (E-TRADE PARTNER)

ACOD is a COD fee and availability-rules specialist. It does not do OTP verification, partial or advance payment collection, order forms, fraud scoring, delivery scheduling, percentage-based fees, or prepaid discount creation. Asking us before you buy is smart — here's the full list with alternatives.

You need...ACOD?What to do instead
OTP / phone verification of COD ordersNoUse a dedicated verification app — it runs alongside ACOD without conflict
Collect part of the payment upfront (advance/deposit), rest on deliveryNoPartial-payment COD apps handle this; ACOD's fee is charged with the order total, not as a separate advance
A percentage fee (e.g. 2% of order value)No — fees are fixed amounts per rateApproximate with conditionally-priced rates per order-value bracket
“5% off for prepaid orders”No — ACOD doesn't create discountsShopify native discounts or a discount app; the COD fee itself has the same steering effect without margin loss on all prepaid orders
COD order forms / 1-click COD landing formsNoCOD form apps (a different category) — usable alongside ACOD
Automated fraud scoring, IP blockingNoFraud/verification apps; ACOD's customer-tag rule enforces your manual decisions
Hide or reorder prepaid payment methods generallyNot ACOD's jobOur sibling app Hide & Sort Payments does exactly this

What ACOD does do, deeply: fees via linked shipping rates (per zone, per variant), and show/hide rules by country, state, city, postal code and prefix, order value, quantity, weight, products, collections, SKUs, product tags, customer tags, B2B/company detection, and discount presence — with a safe testing mode.

Frequently asked questions

Why not add OTP and partial payments to ACOD?

Focus. Verification suites involve telecom infrastructure and per-message pricing that change the product completely. We'd rather do the fee-and-rules job excellently and be honest that other apps do verification well.

Can ACOD run alongside a verification or form app?

Yes — ACOD operates on checkout payment/delivery visibility via Shopify Functions; OTP and form apps act on orders and storefront pages. They complement rather than conflict.
