Test your COD setup safely (testing mode)

With testing mode on, your COD configuration is applied only to checkouts whose contact email is exactly test@example.com. Real customers see your store unchanged, while you verify the fee, the payment-method linking, and every show/hide rule on the live checkout.
How to run a test
- Turn on testing mode in ACOD.
- Open your storefront (an incognito window avoids logged-in customer tags interfering), add products to the cart, and start checkout.
- Use test@example.com as the contact email and a real address in the zone you're testing.
- Continue to the shipping step — the COD rate should appear with the fee — and to the payment step — Cash on Delivery should appear only with the linked rate selected.
- Repeat with an address or cart that your rules should block, and confirm COD is hidden.
- Turn testing mode off to go live.
You don't have to complete the test order. Reaching the payment step is enough to verify what customers will see — the payment list is computed there.
